Writing sample Corporate A. S. E.
This type specimen is a project I completed while I was still a student. The goal was to present the “Corporate A. S. E.” font – designed by Kurt Weidemann between 1985 and 1989 – in detail and to showcase several typographic examples.
The brochure was originally intended to be submitted as a proposal to URW Type Foundry, with the aim of subsequently producing a printed copy. Unfortunately, URW Type Foundry halted the project at the last minute because funding priorities were reassigned. As a result, the brochure—which I designed and conceived entirely on my own – unfairly remained stuck in the prototype stage and was never mass-produced.
The photographed 3D letters for Corporate A. S. E. are based on the “E” typeface and were handmade by me using craft cardboard. This was done to present the typeface in a way that feels almost tangible, rather than simply as a flat print.
